Marking the twelfth edition of the awards organised by the Ad Club of Bombay, the ceremony held on September 3 at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai gave the media agencies ample excuse to shout, scream and dance to drumbeats as they were felicitated with a variety of special awards.
Amongst the 126 case studies shortlisted for presentation, Saffolalife-Saving Private Heart was nominated in four categories, namely Best Ongoing Media Campaign, Best Media Innovation-TV, Best Media Innovation-Print and Best Integrated Campaign.
Media Client of the Year, Best Ongoing Media Campaign and Young Emvie of the Year were the three new categories introduced this year. Cadbury India was chosen as the Client of the Year with a total of 135 points and picked up an award in the launch year of this category. Mindshare's Vineet Nair won the Young Emvie of the Year award for his case study on Axe & Denim.
Madison Media-Pinnacle won a gold metal for the Cadbury Dairy Milk Shubharambh In the Third Year of Chase in the Best Ongoing Media Campaign category.
The People's Choice Award for the Best Case Study Presented on August 23 went to MEC for its Reliance Mobile-Ego Search Campaign, for the case study presentation in the 'Best Media Innovation-Digital (Social Media) category.
The People's Choice Award for the Best Case Study Presented on August 24 went to Mindshare for its presentation on Pond's-Life is Beautiful-66 Human Lives-Beautiful all over again, in the Best Media Innovation-Print category.
Madison Media-Pinnacle won the People's Choice Award for the Best Case Study Presented on August 25 for its presentation on Cadbury-Dairy Milk-Shubharambh by Amitabh Bachchan in the Best Use of a Bollywood Celebrity in the Media category.
Mindshare walked away with the ultimate glory and won the Best Media Agency of the Year for the fifth year in a row, with a total of 160 points, and four gold, seven silver and six bronze awards to its credit.
For the record, Mediacom Communications had won the Grand Emvie last year for Volkswagen.
The Emvies is India's most prestigious and coveted media award. It rewards the greatest breakthrough innovations in Indian media.
