English daily DNA has appointed Chetan Pratap as general manager, marketing. Pratap comes in from Religare, where he was vice-president, marketing.
Pratap is serving his notice period at Religare. His appointment at DNA will be effective from September 10.
As part of his new role, he will be responsible for marketing and development of brand at a national level.
Confirming the development to afaqs!, Pratap says, "A lot of action is happening in print media. Also, in this case, my current agency Scarecrow also manages the account for DNA, so for me it's just moving from one brand to another, while the rest remains the same."
Pratap, who completed bachelor's degree with honours in business economics from Delhi University, also has a post graduate diploma in advertising and communications from EMPI Business School, New Delhi. He next completed management in marketing from Amity Business School. He started his career as a copywriter in 1999 with Ogilvy (earlier Ogilvy & Mather). Next, he moved to Max Life Insurance (earlier known as Max New York Life Insurance) as associate, client services and operations in 2002. In 2004, he shifted to Willis India as manager, before moving to Religare in 2007.
