Reliance Broadcast Network (RBNL) has announced that Anand Chakravarthy, chief marketing officer, RBNL will take on additional charge as business head for its joint venture television network, Big CBS.
In his extended role, Chakravarthy will take on the mandate of the overall profit and loss, along with brand development for the joint venture's English channel portfolio, including Big CBS Prime, Big CBS Love and Big CBS Spark.
In an official communiqué, Tarun Katial, CEO, Reliance Broadcast Network, says, "As the business takes a new leap with some amazing content such as America's Got Talent, American Idol, X Factor, Dexter and more, along with the impending digitisation which will catapult these channels into another level, no one is better equipped than Chakravarthy to lead this initiative and focus on great content and communication, subscription revenue and building greater value for advertisers."

Reed Manville, executive vice-president, international channels, CBS Studios International says that it is always good for the business to be looked after by the people who have seen that business right from the start, just as Chakravarthy played a vital role right when the JV started and the channels were established during his association with the brand.

Chakravarthy has been working in the advertising industry in various roles across research, advertising and marketing, before he joined RBNL in 2006. He has also held the position of associate strategic planner at Lowe Lintas.
