Only months after joining Bennett, Coleman and Company (BBCL) as head, customer strategy, Anita Nayyar is all set to return to Havas Media. Nayyar will resume her old role as chief executive officer, India and Southeast Asia, Havas Media.

She is expected to join on August 14.

In an official communiqué, Nayyar says, "While the assignment at BCCL was interesting, I missed the fast paced work environment of a media agency. Guess my heart lies on this side and there could not have been a better assignment than the one I left behind at Havas."

Nayyar, who holds a bachelors degree in Microbiology with a background in Pathology, later obtained a Masters degree in Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Nayyar has more than 25 years of experience and started her career with Interpublicity, where she worked on brands such as Coca-Cola and Kelvinator. She next moved to Ogilvy and got the opportunity to work under the popular Roda Mehta.

In the mid '90s she joined Lintas. The agency had then bagged two important businesses, Maruti and LG Electronics. After a five-year stint at Ogilvy, she moved to Mudra for a brief period of one year. She then joined Mediacom in 2000. After three years, she moved to Starcom in 2003, where she worked to establish the Delhi branch.

Nayyar joined Havas Media in 2007 as CEO of MPG. She was later promoted as CEO of Havas Media South Asia and India. She is also responsible for launching specialist brands in India and Havas Media's stable of brands in India including MPG, Havas Digital, Havas Sports & Entertainment, MPG Active and Mobext.
