In his new role, Sehgal will be responsible for all the sales related activities in the domestic market for all the channels of the network, apart from Zee News. He was recently promoted as network sales head.
Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) has promoted Ashish Sehgal as chief sales officer, effective June 6, for the entire bouquet of channels including Ten Sports. However, Zee News will not be Sehgal's responsibility.
Though there are no major changes in his responsibilities, Sehgal will now take care of all the sales related activities in the domestic market for all the channels of the network, apart from Zee News.
Sehgal says, "We are focussing on garnering as much from the increasing GRPs of Zee TV, as far as general entertainment is concerned. Apart from this, we have just launched Ten Golf and a couple of HD channels, which need to be settled down for now."
He adds that once the distribution of the HD channels is in place, the network will look forward for HD advertising.
Sehgal was promoted as network sales head in November 2011, after Joy Chakraborthy, executive director, revenue and niche channels, ZEEL, left the network. In his new role too, he will continue to report to Rajesh Jejurikar, president, ZEEL.
Earlier, Sehgal reported to Punit Goenka, MD and CEO, ZEEL.
Sehgal started his career at Times FM (BCCL) in 1994. After working there for about 18 months, he moved on to join Cinevista, in 1996.
After five years at Cinevista, Sehgal joined STAR in 2001. He left the network as all India sales head for STAR Gold in 2006 to join Zee Network as branch head (North).
