After launching the tabloid in Jharkhand, the group is all set to enter Bihar in July.
Three months after introducing its first rural newspaper, Panchayatnama, from Jharkhand, Hindi daily Prabhat Khabar is gearing up to enter Bihar in July.
The Bihar edition of Panchayatnama will be introduced from Patna and will be circulated across 5,800 panchayats, 629 blocks and 38 districts of the state. As per the company estimates, about 88 per cent of the population in Bihar lives in rural areas.
The new edition will be launched with an initial print run of 25,000 copies.
The Hindi fortnightly all-colour tabloid was launched in Jharkhand with a cover price of Rs 12 per copy. However, for Bihar, the group has kept the cover price slightly low at Rs 10 per copy. To make it more affordable for the rural audience, the Prabhat Khabar Group has also announced an annual subscription charge of Rs 200.
The newspaper for the rural population of the state will have 32-40 pages and will target readers in the rural areas including farmers, NGOs, panchayat members, gram sabhas, government departments and zila parishads.
The tabloid will cover news, information and issues related to the panchayat such as providing empowerment to it, keeping a tab on the development work, imparting information about the government schemes for panchayat and reviewing their development.
