Also, a significant drop in Sony's GRPs has facilitated Zee TV to climb up the GEC ladder. As per TAM data, Sony has lost 20 points in the current week to garner 220 GRPs, decreasing from 240 GRPs gathered last week.
On the back of its flagship property DID Little Masters' auditions, Zee TV has regained its No. 2 position in the top general entertainment channels (GEC) flock. The dance-based reality show has helped the channel gain 29 extra points to make 239 GRPs, up from last week's 210 GRPs. The channel share for Zee has also increased from 17.1 per cent to 19.5 per cent in the current week (Week 18). Also, a significant drop in Sony's GRPs has facilitated Zee TV to climb up the GEC ladder.
The channel's other popular property Pavitra Rishta is also doing well. It has sustained its entry in the top programmes on GECs since Week 18.
For the records, the show, which was losing its GRPs, geared up after it saw a 20 year leap in the story in December, 2011. The show has garnered 3.47 TVRs in Week 18 of 2012.
Meanwhile, Star Plus continues to rule the roost with 262 GRPs, up from last week's 255 GRPs. Its relative share has also increased from 20.8 per cent to 21.3 per cent in the current week.
Sony follows Zee TV at No. 3, with a drop of 20 points to garner 220 GRPs, against 240 GRPs that the channel gathered in the previous week. Its channel share, too, has dropped significantly from 19.5 per cent to 17.9 per cent in the current week (Week 18).
Colors, at No. 4, has remained stable at 195 GRPs. Its relative share, too, has remained constant at 15.9 per cent in the current week.
Sony's sibling channel SAB TV has lost 6 points during the week to garner 104 GRPs. Its relative share is also down from 8.9 per cent to 8.5 per cent.
At No. 6, Life OK witnessed a 2 point rise during the week to close its grade with 85 GRPs. Its relative share too increased marginally from 6. 7 per cent to 6.9 per cent in the current week.
Sahara One, with 41 GRPs (43 GRPs in last week) and a channel share of 3.3 per cent (3.5 per cent in the previous week), follows at No. 7.
STAR Utsav is at No. 8. The channel's relative share and GRPs have dropped marginally to 3.1 per cent (3.4 per cent in the previous week) and 38 GRPs (42 GRPs in the previous week), respectively.
Imagine TV and DD1 have garnered relative shares of 2.2 per cent (26 GRPs) and 0.9 per cent (11 GRPs), respectively. Zee Smile follows with 0.5 per cent channel share.
Since the launch of the second season of DID Little Masters (Zee TV), the telecast of its auditions has been ruling the list of top ten programmes on GECs. It tops the list in the current week (which is the second week of DID Little Masters 2) with 6.2 TVRs.
Star Plus' top shows, Diya Aur Baati Hum (5.09 TVRs), Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai (4.12 TVRs) and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (3.83 TVRs) have slipped down to second, third and fourth positions, respectively.
Standing at No. 5, Colors' Baalika Vadhu has gained 3.66 TVRs. Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta stands at No. 6 with 3.47 TVRs, and Pratigya (Star Plus) follows with 3.41 TVRs.
Sony's CID and Crime Patrol follow next with 3.37 and 3.34 TVRs, respectively. Saathiya Saath Nibhana concludes the list with 3.29 TVRs.
