Kilambi is expected to come on board on April 16. While his new designation is still unclear, his mandate will include the same responsibilities as that of Lamba's.
Even as Deepak Lamba, business head of BloombergUTV, readies to end his two year and a half year stint with the channel in April, highly placed company sources confirm that the channel has roped in Sriram Kilambi, senior vice-president and national marketing head, Radio Mirchi, to head the channel.
Kilambi is expected to come on board on April 16. While his new designation is still unclear amongst channel sources (it could be either president or CEO), it is learnt that he will take up Lamba's responsibilities. Meanwhile, as reported earlier, Lamba will move to a media conglomerate with a larger role.
However, it is pertinent to note here that Kilambi and the channel were unavailable for any comment, despite several attempts at the time of filing the report.
Kilambi spent about six years at Radio Mirchi. An alumnus of IIM Bangalore, Kilambi joined Coca-Cola as brand and customer manager in 1999. About seven years later, he moved to Entertainment Network India (ENIL) as vice-president and cluster head, East. Later, in 2008, he was promoted as senior vice-president and cluster head, Mumbai and MPCG.
Since May 2011, however, he was working as senior vice-president and national marketing head for the station.
Before joining BloombergUTV, Lamba was at MTV Networks India. He spent four years with the company as director, Viacom Brand Solutions before joining the news channel in January, 2010. Earlier, Lamba was associate director, Viacom Brand Solutions at MTV Networks India.
