Durbar Ganguly's Millennium Post makes senior level appointments

Mahmood Ahmad, GM, government and PSU business, and Sunil Kumar, GM, marketing, Lucknow of The Pioneer will join the soon-to-be-launched broadsheet from next month.

Durbar Ganguly (ex-vice-chairman and joint managing director, The Pioneer Group) promoted Millennium Post, the Delhi-based English broadsheet, has announced the appointment of two senior level executives -- Mahmood Ahmad and Sunil Kumar. Both Ahmad and Kumar will join the soon-to-be-launched broadsheet from The Pioneer newspaper in May.

While Ahmad will join the daily as chief general manager, Kumar has been roped in as vice-president, marketing, Uttar Pradesh. In their previous roles at The Pioneer, Ahmad was working as general manager, marketing and was responsible for government and PSU businesses. Kumar was general manager, Lucknow operations. In their new roles, both will report to Durbar Ganguly. While Ahmad will be based in Delhi, Kumar will continue to work from Lucknow.

Ahmad has a total experience of about 20 years, of which 15 years have been at The Pioneer group. Kumar has also spent a major part of his career with the organisation.

Millennium Post is scheduled to be launched in the last week of April in Delhi, with an initial print run of 75,000 copies. Rana Some, ex-chairman of National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has also joined the newspaper's advisory board as chairman. Also, Partho Bhattacharya, former chairman of Coal India, is a member of its board.
