Hindustan Media Ventures Ltd (HMVL) has launched an edition from Moradabad, marking Hindustan's 10th edition in Uttar Pradesh, on February 24. With this launch, the Hindi newspaper completes its footprint across Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The new edition has been started with an initial circulation of 1.1 lakh copies. The daily has a cover price of Rs 2.

In an official communiqué, Benoy Roychowdhury, executive director, HMVL, says, "Moradabad is a unique region of Uttar Pradesh that has placed India on the global map through its exports of over Rs 2,200 crore of brass artefacts annually. Through the launch of our Moradabad edition, Hindustan now serves the entire footprint of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand - two progressive and prosperous states with a rich cultural heritage."

The Moradabad launch comes on the back of the recent Aligarh edition. The daily is printed from 18 centres across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand and Delhi.

Amit Chopra, CEO, HMVL, says, "With our launch in Moradabad, we mark the completion of our journey of expansion that began in 2005. As in our other markets, Hindustan will work to create reader delight through a high quality newspaper and continuous engagement."

Rajan Bhalla, head, marketing, strategic businesses, HT Media, adds, "The core proposition of Hindustan is 'Tarakki ko chahiye naya nazariya' - central to our brand and activation campaigns. We approached Moradabad with this very distinct perspective."

HMVL is the publisher of the Hindi newspaper Hindustan, Hindi magazines Nandan and Kadambini, and the news website Livehindustan.com. The company is a subsidiary of the HT Media Group, which has interests in radio, print and online media.
