TV Today Network (TVTN) has roped in Vivek Malhotra as vice-president, marketing.
As part of his new role, Malhotra will develop the brand and communication strategy for leading media brands under TV Today. He will also take charge of the research and special projects divisions.
Malhotra will report to Joy Chakraborty, CEO, TVTN, and is expected to play an important role in future plans envisaged by the new leadership.
Chakraborty says in a statement, "As the pioneers of news broadcast in India, TVTN products consistently break new grounds across verticals. With Malhotra's understanding of the news category, we look forward to communicate this even better, and achieve a serious resonance for each of our media brands. His complementary understanding of research and communication will help us create a superlative viewer and advertiser experience."
Earlier, Malhotra has worked for STAR News Network, where he headed the trade engagement and research unit, and also acquired experience around regional products like STAR Majha.
He has also served as senior vice-president, marketing, PR and research at BloombergUTV, where he set up the marketing division and held the portfolio since the launch of the business news channel. He also oversaw its distribution coordination at the time of his exit.
Before joining TVTN, Malhotra had a brief stint with Big FM as head of marketing.
He was instrumental in evolving within TV18, an independent resource centre of creative solutions and media research, which he later led as a national intelligence unit called 'The Edge'.
