Hindustan Times ropes in Rajesh Ramakrishnan as marketing head

He will handle the marketing of brand HT across the northern and eastern regions.

HT Media has roped in Rajesh Ramakrishnan as head of marketing for its English daily Hindustan Times with immediate effect.

Ramakrishnan will report to Shantanu Bhanja, vice-president, marketing, HT Media. Prior to this, he was associated with Apollo Tyres as head, marketing.

Ramakrishnan did his engineering from BITS Pilani, and his post-graduation from XLRI Jamshedpur. During his 17-year-long career in sales and marketing, he has worked with Reckitt Benckiser, Marico, and PepsiCo, and handled brands such as Cherry Blossom, Kurkure and Quaker.

HT also appointed Pankaj Tibrewal as business head, South and West, recently. Tibrewal joins in from Pantaloon Retail, the flagship company of Future Group, where he was chief operating officer (COO) and business head. He will report to Rajiv Verma, Group CEO, HT Media Group.

Tibrewal replaces Salil Sadanandan who has been associated with HT media since 2008. Sadanandan has an experience of 18 years, on brands including Gillette, Whirlpool, Lintas Advertising, and Timex India.

Tibrewal, who is from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, also worked with McKinsey & Company as engagement manager, Mumbai, for four years. Prior to that, he was an entrepreneur, and was the founder and vice-president of Ellianz for about four years. Tibrewal was also the founder and CEO of ACE Technosoft.
