Seema Mohapatra, regional director, advertising sales, South Asia, BBC Worldwide, has put in her papers, ending her decade-long stint with the company. BBC Worldwide is the main commercial arm and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

Sources close to the development have confirmed the news to afaqs!. Several attempts to contact Mohapatra went futile.

Mohapatra, whose next destination is yet to be known, joined BBC in April 2001 as head, advertising sales, and held the post for six years. Later, in 2007, she was promoted as regional director, South Asia, for BBC Worldwide.

She is armed with about 18 years of experience. She began her career at Taj Bengal, Kolkata, in sales and marketing, and spent a year there before moving to STAR India. She was manager, sales, at STAR TV between 1997 and 2001.
