Set PIX, the English movie channel from the MSM stable, has found a new programming head after a gap of two-and-a-half years.
The network has appointed Amogh Dusad as vice-president and head - programming, for the channel. He will report to Sunder Aaron, executive vice-president and business head, Set PIX.
For the record, the post was earlier held by Gitanjali Murari who quit PIX to join Real Global Broadcasting (RGB) as head of content for the networks's GEC in 2008.
Speaking to afaqs!, Aaron says, "The position was lying vacant for all these years because we just didn't find the right person for the job. Dusad is not only an exceptional television executive, but also has a balanced strategic, as well as tactical approach towards programming."
In his new capacity, Dusad will be responsible for the channel's programming strategy, planning and scheduling. He will also assist with acquisitions, and liaise with other departments including ad sales, distribution and marketing.
Prior to this, Dusad was director, strategic planning and research at Imagine TV. He spent approximately four years there, and was also part of the core team that worked on branded content initiatives. Dusad has also worked with TAM Media Research as associate director and Sahara One Media as senior manager, business strategy, in the past.
A post-graduate in the field of communication from the Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA), Dusad has specialisation in media planning and research.
