Christened Hindustan Jobs, the employment weekly from Hindustan will carry government, as well as private jobs, and will be circulated across Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi.
Hindustan Media Ventures (HMVL) has launched Hindustan Jobs, an employment weekly newspaper to serve the Hindi belt. The new offering, which hit the newsstands on May 8, is available in a compact format, and is priced at Rs 7.
Christened Hindustan Jobs, the employment weekly will carry government, as well as private jobs, and will be circulated across Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi.
Commenting on the launch, Amit Chopra, chief executive officer, HMVL says in an official communiqué, "Hindustan Jobs addresses a need gap in the market and is a well-researched and innovative product offering. The product's unique proposition of providing a one-stop, fast, relevant and reliable source of job-related information is sure to make it a delight for the consumer."
For the record, currently, the print job information market is dominated by the government-run Employment News which carries only government jobs. The market also has a slew of private players which caters to extremely localised markets.
Hindustan Jobs has been designed by leveraging synergies from within the HT Media group with content partnership from Shine.com. "Shine's expertise in the job information market has helped us deliver a superior product and provided us with a competitive edge," Chopra adds.
The launch of Hindustan Jobs follows the re-launch of Hindustan on April 12. The brand had repositioned itself with refreshed content, design and a revamped product portfolio.
According to Rajan Bhalla, head, marketing, strategic businesses, HT Media, "The search and need for jobs is a big life concern in the Hindi belt. Hindustan Jobs reinforces Hindustan's core proposition -- 'Tarakki ko Chahiye Naya Nazariya' -- by taking employment opportunities to Hindi markets in a new and innovative format."
Editor-in-chief Shashi Shekhar notes that the Hindi belt has a large population of educated youth. "Jobs are the need of the hour for them. It is the duty of journalists to serve the demand of society. It is an opportunity to positively influence the lives of people who are seeking opportunities for progress," he says.
Hindustan Media Ventures is the publisher of the Hindi newspaper Hindustan, Hindi magazines Nandan and Kadambini, and the news website livehindustan.com. Hindustan has a presence in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand and Delhi, with a total readership of 3.52 crore.
The company is a subsidiary of the HT Media Group -- a diversified media group with interests in radio, print and online media.
