In a bid to strengthen its leadership and bring in a new level of excellence in its operations and marketing strategies, Radio Mirchi has made some key changes to its team.

As part of the restructuring, Hitesh Sharma has been promoted as chief operating officer, while Mahesh Shetty has been appointed as chief strategy officer. Additionally, Yatish Mehrishi will take over as regional director, North; Sameer Sainani has been promoted as chief revenue officer, and Anirban Sengupta will head the Mumbai business.

It may be noted here that last week, as reported by afaqs!, Sriram Kilambi, senior vice-president and cluster head, Entertainment Network India (ENIL) Mumbai, was promoted as marketing head, Radio Mirchi.

In an official communiqué, Prashant Panday, executive director and chief executive officer, ENIL, says, "Radio Mirchi is on the cusp of another round of rapid growth. We are basically gearing ourselves for Phase III as we need to ensure that we are fully geared up when it comes in."

Sharma has been with ENIL for about eight years. Earlier, he was regional director, West. He was a part of the team that masterminded the successful transition of the company into Phase II.

Shetty, erstwhile regional director, ENIL, now has the mandate to prepare the company for rapid expansion.

Sainani will look after all revenue functions such as radio sales, activation, sponsorship and the IP businesses. Earlier, Sainani was chief operating officer of ENIL's event business (360 Degrees).

Mehrishi was the cluster head of Delhi, Jaipur and Jalandhar. Anirban Sengupta, cluster head, East, has taken over the Mumbai business from Kilambi.

Commenting on the restructuring, Sujata Bhatt, executive vice-president, marketing, strategy and HR, ENIL, says, "It is a testament to the depth in management talent at ENIL that we have. By taking the leadership to the next level, we are keeping our traditions alive."
