Media Research Users Council (MRUC) has appointed Hormusji N Cama, director of the Gujarati daily Bombay Samachar, as vice-chairperson. Cama replaces Bharat Kapadia, director, Lokmat Group, who recently, due to personal reasons, stepped down from the position of vice-chairperson, and the board of governors of MRUC.
In an official communiqué, Lloyd Mathias, chairperson, MRUC, says, "Hormusji's vast experience and knowledge will be a great asset and benefit media users, as MRUC continues its growth. Despite being a reputed publisher, Hormusji is keenly interested in the development of other media."
Cama has been on the board of governors of MRUC since September 2007. A former president of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS), Cama has been actively involved in various publishing and industry bodies, and is currently on the board of directors of the Press Trust of India.
