Hindustan appoints Rajesh Kumar as head, marketing

Rajesh Kumar will drive Hindustan's presence in the Hindi hinterland.

Rajesh Kumar has been appointed head, marketing, Hindustan Media Ventures. He will report to Amit Chopra, chief executive officer, Hindustan Media Ventures. Earlier, Kumar was president, planning at Ogilvy & Mather (O&M).

Kumar fills the place left vacant by Dhiraj Soni, who had left Hindustan in July.

Chopra says, "Rajesh Kumar will drive the brand Hindustan in the Hindi hinterland. He will also be responsible for the growth of readership and revenue."

An MBA in marketing from Punjab University, Kumar has been with various media agencies.

Before O&M, he was vice-president, strategic planning, Y&R Brands, where he was working on the Airtel account. Kumar's earlier stints also include working at Lowe Lintas, where he was responsible for accounts in Delhi and Kolkata and non-Lever accounts in Mumbai.
