The Indian arm of the US-based publishing house, Condé Nast, which publishes magazines such as Vogue (lifestyle and fashion), GQ or Gentlemen's Quarterly (men's magazine focused on fashion and culture) and luxury travel magazine, Condé Nast Traveller, has roped in Mukta Puri Chadda as national sales head, digital division. She will be based in Mumbai and will report to Maya Hari, director, digital, Condé Nast India.
Condé Nast's digital properties include Vogue.in, GQIndia.com, CNtraveller.in and a Blackberry mobile phone application for GQ.
Speaking to afaqs! in May this year -- when Condé Nast India officially announced the appointment of Hari as head of digital division -- Alex Kuruvilla, managing director, Condé Nast India, had said, "We have plans to monetise our online and mobile content through advertisements. We expect to earn about 15 per cent of revenue from the digital editions in the near future; and have plans to get 50 per cent of the overall revenue from digital in the next five years."
Chadda has more than 10 years of work experience. She was earlier national sales head at Microsoft DrivePM (Performance Marketing), the online ad network of Microsoft Advertising. Besides, she has also worked with media companies such as MTV, Sony Entertainment Network and The Times of India.
In an official communiqué, Maya Hari, director, digital, Condé Nast India, says, "With Chadda's vast experience in the digital field across sectors, I'm sure the team will create benchmarks in the digital space."
