The media house has acquired the rights of the niche magazine from Meredith Media
Maxposure Media Group has acquired the license to publish Diabetic Living magazine, from Meredith Media group of publications. The inaugural issue of the magazine will hit the newsstands in November this year.
The group is still working on the nitty-gritty, including cover price, ad rates and print run of the magazine. However, the magazine is likely to be a quarterly with an average of 120 pages per issue.
Diabetic Living will feature research reports along with diet, exercise, food and nutrition and health information for diabetic patients, to help them improve their quality of life. The magazine will be the second special interest title by Maxposure, after Estetica (hair and beauty magazine), and will be published by its consumer and special interest vertical.
"These new partnerships highlight the very wide appeal of Meredith's brands, and our deep knowledge of the parenthood and health categories in particular," says John Zieser, chief development officer, Meredith Media. The group publishes an array of magazines, including Better Homes and Gardens, Parents and Family Circle.
In an official communiqué, Prakash Johari, CEO, Maxposure Media Group, says, "Maxposure will take a 360-degree approach to the title, with presence in events by conducting nationwide Diabetic Awareness seminars and conferences with experts, including doctors and professionals; and will explore presence on electronic media through "The Diabetic Living Show". The magazine will be a must-read for diabetic patients across the country, as it will provide better ways of living with diabetes."
The Indian edition of the magazine will try and maintain a large percentage of content generated locally in India. The group claims that Diabetic Living will be the first of its kind and has no direct competition.
For the record, Maxposure Media Group produces a bouquet of lifestyle, special interest and custom magazines, including AND, Estetica, Beyond Luxury, Spiceroute, Touchdown, Mercedesmagazine, Elite Life and FHM.
