Rejigs are not uncommon to ZEE TV. Here's the latest. Today, Kareena of ZEE’s 9.30 pm daily show ‘Kareena Kareena’ will be shedding her 'ethnic' look and sarees, and don Indo-Western wear. The change came about following an on-air contest on the channel.

“We had given three choices to viewers,” says Ashvini Yardi, head of programming, ZEE TV. “The first was Western, followed by Indian and then Indo-Western.”

That Kareena’s makeover is timed with the much-hyped facelift of Sony’s 'plain Jane' Jassi is merely a “coincidence”, says Yardi. “It was always in the pipeline. Kareena’s makeover is part of the show and is not very huge.”

For ZEE, the big-ticket launch for March is 'Sindoor Tere Naam Ka', a new serial starring Gurdeep Kohli (who plays the lead in the soon-to-be-wound-up medical drama 'Sanjivani' on STAR Plus). The show will make its debut in the 7.30 pm slot on March 21. The other 'biggie' for this month is 'Business Baazigar'.

Another show that is seeing some changes is 'Astitva – Ek Prem Kahani', telecast at the 9 pm prime time. The show will leap by 18 years on March 15 with new characters being introduced. The new actors will be sourced from participants in the talent hunt 'India’s Best – Cinestars Ki Khoj'.

“We needed to show the transition in the characters,” says Yardi. “All of them including Shaguna, the maid and Aastha, the child, were loved by people. The transition had to be portrayed.”

'Piya Ka Ghar', the 8.30 pm family drama starring Alok Nath and Narayani Shastri, has already leaped by 14 years in the first week of March, while 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa', the serial which takes a light-hearted look at the lives and philosophies of three friends, launched a few months ago in the 10.30 pm slot, will move to the 10.00 pm slot from today.

The late evening slot of 10.30 pm, meanwhile, will see the re-run of an erstwhile ZEE serial 'Sarhadein' and 11.00 pm may see the repeat telecast of afternoon serial 'Reth'.

Currently the latter is telecast in the 7.30 pm slot. But, following the entry of 'Sindoor Tere

Naam Ka', 'Reth' is set to move from there.
