The News Broadcasting Association (NBA) has announced its office bearers for 2014-2015. Rajat Sharma (chairman and editor-in-chief, India TV) has been appointed as the president of the association.
He replaces K.V.L. Narayan Rao, executive vice chairperson, NDTV Group - New Delhi Television. Rao will continue to be a member of the NBA Board. Ashok Venkatramani (CEO - ABP News, MCCS) will continue to be the vice president, while Anurradha Prasad (chairperson-cum-MD, News24 Broadcast India) is the honorary treasurer.
The other board members are: Ashish Bagga (director - TV Today Network), M.K. Anand (MD and CEO - Times Global Broadcasting Co), Bhaskar Das (CEO - Zee Media Corporation), Jagi Mangat Panda (director, Odisha Television) and M.V. Shreyams Kumar (director, Mathrubhumi Printing and Publishing).
For the record, NBA represents the private television news and current affairs broadcasters. It is the collective voice of the news and current affairs broadcasters in India. It is an organisation funded entirely by its members.
The NBA has 26 leading news and current affairs broadcasters (comprising 59 news and current affairs channels) as its members. It also presents a unified and credible voice before the Government, on matters that affect the growing industry.
