Box TV, the online video-on-demand service from Times Internet, has partnered with convergence company Amkette to make BoxTV.com content available on Amkette's flagship product, EvoTV. EvoTV is a television-connected device that makes television viewing interactive for viewers. As a part of the deal, BoxTV has launched dedicated apps for Amkette's Android-based TV streaming media device, EvoTV.

BoxTV will provide its users with unlimited selection of full length movies and television content through its app on the platform. Consumers can browse and watch over 10,000 hours of free content across various languages and genres with one click on the big screen.

The BoxTV app on EvoTV provides several special features which allow users a quick access to movies recommended by BoxTV's editorial team on the home-screen. BoxTV offers a large bouquet of entertainment including blockbuster movies, TV shows, short films and documentaries.

As an introductory offer, BoxTV is offering a one month free subscription to all users who purchase EvoTV before July 15, 2013. The app will offer free and ad-supported content for all consumers, while paid consumers will able to access BoxTV's entire movie and television catalogue.

Highlighting the relevance of the partnership, Nikhil Bapna, assistant vice-president, Amkette, says, "Given the rapid rise in consumption of online video in India, we envisioned and designed EvoTV to be a platform that offers users the convenience of watching over-the-top (OTT) content in their living rooms. BoxTV is a service that has the widest range of premium video content and was a perfect fit for power users and early adopters of OTT services in India."

"EvoTV is an exciting product, bringing together a host of features that one would only find in very premium range of devices under a simple, user-friendly device. We are glad to have BoxTV as one of the earliest apps of this ground-breaking platform," states Pandurang Nayak, business head, BoxTV.

Last month, BoxTV had inked a deal with Celestial Pictures (CPL) to offer more than 100 titles of Shaw Brothers' martial arts movies on its platform. In February 2013, BoxTV had inked content agreements with Sony Pictures Television and Disney UTV to offer premium movie and television titles on its portal. At that time, the company had also added a new TV section to its catalogue offering full length episodes from national and international television shows such as Lost, Grey's Anatomy, Hannah Montana, Desperate Housewives and Scrubs, among others.
