In a Facebook post, the smartphone brand brings 'aperture', 'moment' and 'camera' in one frame. Now, why wouldn't we think of Kodak?
In one of its latest social media interaction with users, Finnish mobile phone brand Nokia appears to want to ride on the famous 'Kodak Moment' advertising catchphrase from the '90s. The brand's online poster gives consumers a new hashtag #Nokiamobilemoment, which, to us, looks like an alternative to the old line created by popular camera brand Kodak - 'It's a Kodak moment'. Remember?
'Kodak moments' are life's special moments captured in photographs; the phrase became extremely popular when ads promoting it were first released. In fact, the phrase is still part of local parlance and is still used by many to describe moments that are worth immortalising through a photograph.

The copy in Nokia's ads, that seems to ride on this foundation and pretty much relies on collective consumer memory of Kodak's old line, reads, "Focus on the people you love and get clicking like a pro." The copy also highlights the 'Pro Camera mode' feature and also plays up its adjustable 'focus' element.

Nokia's ad on Facebook is accompanied by a post that reads: "It's February, and love is in the air! Share your 'love'ly photos taken on Nokia phones and stand a chance to win big."
The post goes on to urge users to share their 'Nokia mobile moment' on the brand's website as part of a competition.
