Kothari who joined LinkedIn in 2013, will continue to serve as the country manager for LinkedIn’s Indian market in addition to his new role. Interestingly, just two years back Kothari was promoted to the position of the country head, India. In his expanded role of leading product for international markets outside the US, Kothari will be responsible to empower each and every market to think locally and create more value for every member on the platform.
Kothari spearheaded the launch of LinkedIn Lite which is the first ‘made in India, by India, for India’ LinkedIn product. In addition to this, Kothari aims to take LinkedIn to smaller towns and to make the networking platform accessible to the blue-collar workforce and knowledge workers.
Prior to joining LinkedIn, Kothari was the founder and chief executive officer of Pulse which is a personalised news application and was later acquired by LinkedIn for $90 million.
Kothari completed his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in the same field from Purdue University, where he currently serves as a member of the advisory board.
