The long-term arrangement will see the platform globally stream 14 hour-long specials by OML's artists.
Amazon Prime Video India has partnered with Only Much Louder (OML)- which has artiste management as one of its verticals, and has announced a long-term arrangement that will make Prime Video India the subscription streaming home for 14 stand-up comedy specials. Each of the hour-long specials will debut on the platform exclusively by May 2017, and will be available to viewers on Amazon Prime Video India, and globally across 200 countries and territories.
Nitesh Kripalani, director and country head, Amazon Prime Video India says, "We want to change the way customers consume entertainment by bringing this fantastic collection by OML's best comedy talent to Prime members exclusively and on-demand."
Talking about the partnership, Ajay Nair, COO, Only Much Louder, adds "Stand-up comedy in India has become massive over the last few years with a huge fan base across the country and the comics have worked tremendously hard to create and perform the funniest material for their fans. Amazon Prime Video is a great destination for fans to watch full hour-long sets of their favourite comics in one go."
The comedians whose specials will be released as part of this partnership include Sapan Verma, Sorabh Pant, Kanan Gill, Kenny Sebastian, Zakir Khan, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Naveen Richard, Anuvab Pal, Varun Thakur, Azeem Banatwalla, Neville Shah, Aadar Malik, S Aravind EIC Outrage special.
These specials will be shot at different across the country in the first half of 2017, and two to three specials will be released exclusively on Amazon Prime Video every month.
