The YouTube challenge will be between prominent comedy troupes and stand-up comedians.
Coca-Cola's soft drink brand Sprite, and Culture Machine, a digital content media company, have partnered to launch 'Sprite Comedy Konkout', a digital comedy challenge between prominent comedy troupes and stand-up comedians.
The digital challenge will kick off today, June 29, on the Comedy Konkout channel on YouTube. It will be hosted by an international comedy troupe called 'The Tenderloins' also popularly known as the 'Impractical Jokers', who will challenge Indian comedians in a one-of-its-kind '#FakeOff', keeping in line with Sprite's on-going FakeOff campaign.
The 'Sprite Comedy Konkout' by Culture Machine aims to make everyone laugh out loud, quite literally. The platform will get some of the biggest names from the comedy fraternity to call on their friends and troupes to come out and prove themselves as the master tamer of the funny bone. The series will start with a host of joke videos following the first challenge and host 'The Tenderloins' gets to decide the ultimate entertainer.
Commenting on the challenge, Siddharth Narula, president, Culture Machine, says in a press release, "Sprite Comedy Konkout by Culture Machine is an industry first in the country. We are delighted to have associated with Sprite that continues to push the envelope in terms of its consumer engagements. We have brought together the very best from the comedy fraternity in India and hope that the audience loves watching 'Comedy Konkout' as much as we loved conceptualising it."
