Investopad humours VCs, start-ups; Video goes viral

With over 1.3 lakh views on Facebook, Investopad's Diwali Mashup video has caught the fancy of many a social media user. A quick look at the effort.

If you're wondering where were plucked these gems from, you haven't been spending enough time on social media of late; these Bollywood/pop-culture-inspired lyrics are from an online video released (on November 9) by Investopad.

What's Investopad?

The brand's Facebook page reads: 'Investopad was founded in 2014, by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, to help start-ups create value and build long-term, successful businesses.' According to brand's website, 'Investopad is a platform for growth and provides early stage start-ups access to practical support, mentorship, and early stage capital.'

Who's in the video?

The Diwali-themed video is an entertaining musical that parodies the plight of fund-strapped start-ups, who, from the looks of it, have no qualms laughing at themselves. Complete with references to ESOPs, tech support, start-up decks, and what venture capitalists call 'cigarette money' (listen in for "Burning dekh re kaise, aag si laga rakhi hai"), the video features both investors and people from start-ups.

They include investors Utsav Somani, Kashyap Deorah, Sahil Kini (Aspada Investments), Niket Desai (Flipkart), Saad Ahmed (Uber), Rahul Khanna (Trifecta Capital), Vibhas Jain (Housing Labs), Samir Sood (Venture Highway), Rohit Pillai (Reslisted), Arjun Malhotra (co-founder, Investopad), Harpreet Grover (CoCubes), Tyler Norwood (Global Fashion Group), Gautam Gandhi, teams from Little Black Book Delhi, MyPoolin, Inforce Pro, Zenatix, Story Xpress, Snaplion, AskMe, YourStory, Wealthy, Witworks, and students of IIT Delhi.
