Sundeep Malhotra has decided to move on from digital commerce company HomeShop 18, as founder and CEO. He was at the helm for nine years, during which he turned HomeShop18 into a multi-screen digital commerce platform, accessible to customers across TV, web and mobile devices, pan India.
"The HomeShop18 journey has been an exceptional one in many ways and, for me, it's been an absolute privilege to have led the company from its inception to it being the powerful and respected brand it is today. HomeShop18 has a great team, and I am sure the legacy will continue and the brand will continue to power ahead with my best wishes," Malhotra says.
He is believed to be venturing into the online content space.
Malhotra, who is the co-chairman of FICCI's Retail Committee, has been awarded the 'eRetail Leadership of the Year' award by Indian eRetail Awards in 2014.
Malhotra has over 20 years of retail and FMCG experience. Prior to Homeshop18, he was the executive vice president - sales for PepsiCo India. Before that, he had a five-year stint with Benetton India, as its head - sales and marketing for the Indian subcontinent. He was also associated with Bata India for 10 years, across various functions.
