He will spearhead the PR and marketing activities for PayU.
PayU, an online payments company, has appointed Prabhakar Tiwari as its chief marketing officer. He joins the online firm from tyre manufacturing company Ceat, where he was general manager, marketing.
Tiwari has 13 years of experience. He started his career at Marico, in the marketing and sales functions during his five-year tenure. He has also been associated with Avon Beauty Products as the category marketing head and was instrumental in the launch of Danone as head - marketing for its India set-up.

Tiwari has won the J&J Award for marketing excellence as the marketing topper of his IIM-B batch, and was awarded several times at Marico for 'best marketing innovation' and being the 'best sales manager'. While at Ceat, he was felicitated as the 'Marketing Person of the Year 2014-15' by the tyre industry body TRILA.
His team achievements include several awards for Ceat marketing campaigns including Effies and Abbys, as well as awards in the categories of 'Social Media Campaign of the Year' and 'Effective Digital Media Strategy' by DMAi, Pitch Youth Marketing, and Global Youth Marketing Awards.
Tiwari is also an active member of many CMO Peer Group Forums and has contributed to the marketing fraternity by being a jury member for Effies and Impact Awards.
