The motor brand has garnered five million fans on the social networking site in three years. It claims to be the first motor brand in the Indian car market to achieve this milestone.
Hyundai Motor India, a leading car manufacturer and passenger car exporter, which crossed the five million Facebook fan mark on December 27, claims to be the first auto brand to achieve the feat in the Indian market.
To celebrate the milestone, the brand has announced an initiative on its official Facebook page, which allows fans to meet Bollywood superstar and Hyundai brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan.
The application allows the five million Hyundai fans on Facebook to give a virtual Hi-5 to SRK by uploading a Hi-5 selfie on the tab. The top five fans with the leading conversations around it will get an opportunity to meet SRK at Hyundai's next television commercial shoot.
The official Facebook page of Hyundai India was launched in 2011. Says Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice president, sales & marketing, HMIL reels off a list of the carmaker's achievements, "Hyundai is the fastest car manufacturer to roll out the 5 millionth car in the shortest timeframe. It has also achieved the landmark of five million Facebook fans along with the fastest domestic sales of over four lakh units while proudly servicing over 4.3 million Hyundai cars pan-India. Hyundai has consistently enhanced its product quality and processes to be titled amongst the Top 2 car brands on quality parameters Hyundai is also the only manufacturer to win 2 successive Indian Car of the Year."
Hyundai focuses on digital marketing platforms to connect with the Indian youth and engage with customers directly. It has a strong presence in the digital world through a range of social media marketing platforms such as Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Linkedin, Instagram and blogs.
The brand launched its first-ever corporate campaign focusing on India, 'Life is Brilliant' in November, 2014. The campaign fetched over four million views on YouTube in less than two weeks. It became the most watched YouTube viral film in the Hyundai portfolio in India.
