LIV Sports, Multi Screen Media's (MSM) digital sports entertainment destination, holds the mobile and internet broadcast rights for the UEFA Euro 2016 India (Qualifiers). LIV Sports will offer both live and video-on-demand (VOD) content, including statistics and analysis.
This leg of the tournament is currently underway, and will run till November 2015, post which the championship will be held between June 10 and July 10, 2016, in France.
LIV Sports will enable viewers to watch the live telecast of the qualifying tournament at a rate of $3 per match.
The VOD content on LIV Sports will include match highlights, goals, penalties, red cards, free kicks and misses.
Uday Sodhi, EVP and head, digital, Sony Entertainment Network, says he is committed to offering quality content that is "mass inclusive and not designed to cater only to ardent sports fans." He also promises the content will be very interactive.
The European Championship will be contested by 24 teams, significantly different from the 16-team format in place since 1996. There will be six groups of four teams each. The knockout stage will include three rounds, which will be followed by the final match.
Being the host, France has automatically qualified for the final tournament. The other 53 national teams will compete in the qualifying competition to secure the remaining 23 places.
