Ravi Kumar will report to Vincent Digonnet and be responsible for regional presence across Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Gurgaon
Razorfish has appointed Charulata Ravi Kumar as chief executive officer, India. Ravi Kumar, though based in the Mumbai office, will also be responsible for the agency's Bengaluru, Gurgaon and Pune branches. She will report to Vincent Digonnet, the agency's executive chairman (APAC).
The appointment is effective immediately.
"I'm honoured to lead Razorfish India's business, and to be tasked with taking the network to new heights, leveraging technology, social media, e-commerce, data services, experience design and brand building capabilities, to deliver transformational business experiences. My goal is to ensure Razorfish India remains the destination for smart, curious, creative and entrepreneurial-minded people, and to further strengthen Razorfish India's existing core competencies," said Ravi Kumar in a press note.
Ravi Kumar's 25 year-long career includes stints with the WPP, 141 London and Lowe networks in India, West Asia and Europe. She has also established her own successful innovation and leadership skills consultancy, Coffee Kettle.
Ravi Kumar has been a consultant and regular columnist for The Indian Express. She is also a jury member at the Aditya Birla Financial Services Leadership Excellence Awards and the Tata Innovations Awards.
Aforementioned Digonnet says, "Charulata brings to this role true business transformation skills through a blend of innovation, integrated marketing solutions and entrepreneurship. She has diverse experience across sectors such as services, manufacturing and consumer products, across leading multinational corporations and global brands."
Note that Ravi Kumar replaces the agency's outgoing managing director, Kanika Mathur, who says on the occasion, "It's been a privilege to have worked within the Publicis Groupe, latterly at Razorfish, an iconic organisation with digital at its core, since 2008."
She adds that under her successor's leadership, "Razorfish India will continue to thrive and progress."
