Nokia almost vanished from the Top Searched Handset List in the past few months but now consumers seem to be getting attracted to the brand.

Nokia, which has been in trouble waters for quite some time now, seems to learning the art of swimming once again. This was revealed by a survey of The Mobile Indian in which the online preferences of over one million people who visited the website (www.themobileindian.com) in September were analysed.

As per the Handset Hotlist survey, among the Top 25 searched phones, four were from Nokia. If we look at the last five Handset Hotlists, Nokia had managed to get three, one, two, two and two slots, in the reverse order.

Also, if we analyse the consumer's searching behaviour towards pixel resolution of rear camera, we found festive season seems to have kicked in as out of the Top 25 handsets that made it to the list, 12 had 8 megapixel or more resolution.

Commenting on the trend, a spokesperson for The Mobile Indian says, "According to the data available with The Mobile Indian, last year too, in October, consumers searched for phones that have better camera resolution, as 16 of the top 25 listed in October 2012 had 5 or more megapixel resolution. At that time, 5 MP was not a bad number."

As per the Handset Hotlist survey, consecutively for the second month, Micromax Canvas 4 is the most searched handset.

Out of the 25 most searched handsets, six each were from Samsung and Micromax, two each from Spice and Xolo, and one each from Karbonn, Gionee, HTC and iBall.

The Relative Score indicates the popularity of each handset vis-à-vis the leader. This month, consumer interest position No. 3 onwards was not quite stark, and was quite close and for some slots it was almost the same.
