Mogae Media has appointed Suneet Manchanda as its chief operating officer for deals and delights. He will be based in Gurgaon and will report to Rajendra Gupta, chief value officer.

Speaking on his appointment to afaqs!, Manchanda says, "I will be responsible to build relationships and alliances with telecom companies and create a deal and delight platform for their customers. The platform will be sourced and powered by Mogae."

He adds that his mandate will be to create an interface where the consumers can come and shop for different deals offered by the telcos.

Mogae Media is currently working with Aircel, Airtel and Docomo and has several deals in the pipeline.

Manchanda began his career in 1996 with Times FM, the radio business of BCCL in the sales department. He then moved to Times Internet in 1999 and launched Indiatimes Shopping. Later he shifted to Sifymall as head of business development and operations.

Before joining Mogae Media, Manchanda co-founded Ladyblush, India's first women-only shopping website, taking care of technology, merchant acquisitions and alliances. He continues to be an investor in the venture.

Before becoming an entrepreneur, he was vice-president and business head for Tradus, which is an Ibibo venture. He spent four years and built the e-commerce business from scratch.

Speaking about the growth of the e-commerce industry in the country, he says, "In coming years, there lies a huge potential for growth in the e-commerce industry. Though there will be several challenges but there is enough optimism in the industry."

Manchanda is a commerce graduate from the Delhi University and holds a diploma in marketing and advertising from Bharatiya Vidhya Bhawan. He has also successfully completed Naspers' Harvard Business School Program.

Mogae is in the process of launching its Buzzdeals product across various mobile operators. Its Modeals portal too is now active, with copyrighted products like MoGaneshas and MoCards.

Mogae Media was launched by Sandeep Goyal, former JV partner of Dentsu India, in October 2011. It is the sole partner of Airtel, India's largest telecom company, for monetisation of all its mAdvertising assets, including mCouponing and mCommerce.

The Mogae Group came into being in 1992 as a head hunting firm and then evolved into an integrated marketing and communications agency. The group includes Mogae Media, Torque Communications, Midori Communications, Mogae Global, Diginatives, Last Minute Inventory, Mogae Digital, Indian Fantasy League and FoodFood TV.
