Times Internet has announced the acquisition of men's lifestyle portal MensXP.com. The digital arm of the Times Group justifies the takeover noting how Indian men are constantly looking for relevant information on fashion, health, technology and work.

The cost of acquisition has not been revealed by the companies involved.

MensXP.com was launched three years ago by Angad Bhatia. The site boasts of considerable traffic and has also worked with advertisers such as Burberry, LG and Samsung, among others, helping the brands reach out to the urban male audience.

On the development, Satyan Gajwani, chief executive officer, Times Internet, says, "This is really exciting for us because not only are we bringing in a strong platform, but we are bringing on board an entrepreneurial team that has a huge vision for its business. Times Internet is focused on bringing on great entrepreneurs that can take their businesses to the next level with our support."

Going forward, Times Internet plans to take the content of the portal to a wider audience and leverage on its existing following.

Bhatia, who will now work as the business head of the portal, says that working with Times Internet will help MensXP further its vision to be the de-facto lifestyle platform for Indian consumers.

"We are extremely excited to work with TIL, especially during a phase that involves a paradigm shift in the way the organisation does business. I am happy that Gajwani believes in our vision and together, we will aim to build something great,"
