The digital agency that was launched in the country in July has appointed Natasha Kapur as business director.
Three months into its launch in the country, VML Qais, the Asian arm of the VML Network that is WPP Group's pure play digital agency network and a strategic partner of Y&R Advertising, looks set to expand its business and has set up its operations in New Delhi.
The agency's first senior appointment in the Capital comes with Natasha Kapur, who has been brought on board as business director.
Kapur joins VML Qais from Sony Mobile, where she worked as senior manager, strategy and communications. At Sony Mobile, Kapur was responsible for developing and driving integrated marketing strategy and communications for the company's mobile content and services ecosystem that included mobile app stores, graphics, games, music, movies and device management services on a global level.
She is armed with more than a decade of experience in digital marketing, brand management and strategic initiatives across India, Asia Pacific, USA and Europe, and has worked for companies in the media, advertising and telecom sectors.
At VML Qais, Kapur will be responsible to grow the team and business of the agency.
Talking to afaqs!, Tripti Lochan, chief executive officer, VML Qais Asia, says, "The most striking thing about Kapur is her strategic approach and experience in India and abroad. She has been a part of the agency as well as client sides. With her experience in brand building using digital and new media, platforms, partnerships and tools, she is ideally suited to join our team and provide thought-leading, cutting-edge digital marketing experiences to clients."
"I really look forward to build great brands for companies by creating engaging experiences for consumers wherever they live in the digital universe. I am pleased to join the VML Qais team during this exciting stage in its India journey," Kapur says in a press statement.
According to Lochan, the initial months in India have been rather fruitful as they continue working on their existing clients such as ICICI Bank and Mahindra, in particular. With the Delhi expansion, the focus is further on local expertise, she says.
"Our key hires are made with growth in mind,"
Lochan says, hinting at future announcements of local business wins.
While the creative support will still be provided by the teams in Mumbai and Singapore; the Delhi team will be steadily built. VML Qais also recently set up a technology centre in Hyderabad and also plans to boost its team there.
