Marlow joins Jump Games from Zynga, where he was an executive producer.
Reliance Entertainment Digital's game division, Jump Games has appointed Eric Marlow as the vice-president of its Global Studios. Marlow joins Jump Games from Zynga, a social games service provider where he was an executive producer responsible for leadership and direction of the game, Mafia Wars.
Jump Games is a publisher and developer of mobile games, apps and content.
Marlow will be based in Pune and will oversee the current slate of development projects under way, chart the company's growth and expand the product portfolio.
Explaining his immediate mandate further, Manish Agarwal, chief executive officer, Reliance Entertainment Digital tells afaqs!, "Marlow will look at the existing line of games and will provide his key insights. He will evaluate the talent pool in context of the future projects, identify and plug-in the need gaps. He will also be required to identify the right development partners worldwide to help Jump Games grow organically."
Marlow comes with over 13 years of experience in the gaming industry, besides handling strategy at management consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. Among the noted companies he has worked in are UK-based developer Kuju Entertainment, Rava Games and G2 Interactive.
On the appointment, Agarwal says, "Marlow has uniquely distinguished himself as one of the handful of videogame executives with true multi-regional experience. His knowledge of the industry will be critical for us to develop world class products and tap the mobile gaming opportunities worldwide. With his addition to the team, we are confident of adding many more games to the current list of ours."
