The updated version of the app that will be available across operating systems has added features to improve user experience on mobile.
Professional networking site LinkedIn has released an upgraded version of its mobile application. Available across operating systems such as iOS, Android and Symbian, the app has been enhanced with features to provide a simpler and better user experience for members.
With the upgraded version, users can access options such as Jobs and Jobs You May Be Interested directly from their mobile update stream. Real-time notifications are now enabled to let the user know of any activity on their profile. Company Pages will also help members to know more about a particular company they might be interested in.
According to the company, 23 per cent of LinkedIn members (a rise of 10 per cent year-on-year) are visiting the site on mobile, which gives the company that added boost to further improve its presence on mobile.
On the development, Hari V Krishnan, country manager, LinkedIn India, says, "Being the fastest-growing consumer service on LinkedIn, mobile is an extremely important part of our offerings for professionals. Keeping in mind that today's workforce is constantly on the move, enhancing our mobile platform is a conscious step to make our members more productive and successful."
The upgraded LinkedIn app is free and available immediately for download by members.
In addition, LinkedIn has also announced the launch of the iPad application in several international languages such as French, German, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian, Portuguese and Korean.
