Dance is always fun and dancing with the stars is more fun. To amplify this excitement, dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa has came up with an online game that encourages everyone to put on their dancing shoes and start dancing online.

Taking audience engagement to a new level, the game, available at

, has some unique features that allow users to choose a professional dancer, create a customised dance routine and adapt Indian choreographer Salman Yusuf Khan as an avatar. As the player progresses in the game, with each level, new dance moves, costumes, music and more features get unlocked to add to the overall experience of dance and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. The game also presents a tutorial that highlights different dance forms like Samba, Jive and Tango, among others.

To play the game, the user needs to log on to the gaming site with their email or Facebook ID. They can then use a virtual name, select dance partners from the given list of international choreographers, and select costume and accessories for the virtual dancing avatar. Then, the user selects the dance moves and continues with the game, moving to further levels.

The dance moves showcased on the game are designed and choreographed by US champion Kym Johnson. The 3D graphics and imagery make the game look glamorous and dramatic, bringing alive the show online.

The game can be played on both mobile and internet browsers and has been launched with the objective to provide viewers an online dancing experience, and also increase audience engagement with the reality show.

In an official communiqué, Vivek Srivastav, digital head, Colors, says, "With the Jhalak Dikhla Jaa game, we aim to connect with our strong online fan base which elevates the show to a higher mass platform. The more virtual formats we explore, the more it enables us to tap newer audiences across the world. We have been successful in extending the Jhalak Dikhla Jaa and Colors brands into newer media with not only the mobile application, but also with this new interactive game which gives fans and social gamers a platform to live like a celebrity and have a true Jhalak experience."

Designed by BBC Worldwide Productions India, the online game allows viewers to learn and experience different dance forms along with playing the game. "The game, with its signature Jhalak Dikhla Jaa touch, allows fans, viewers and users to feel the adrenalin that comes with being a part of this larger than life show. We believe that with the launch of this game, the overall experience will create an addiction among the Jhalak Dikhla Jaa fans and dance lovers," elaborates Myleeta Aga, general manager and creative head, BBC Worldwide Productions India.
