Consumer review website Mouthshut.com has gone mobile with the launch of its mobile site. The site has been launched as a part of the company's strategy to establish a strong mobile presence.

The company plans to spend close to 50 per cent of its budget on mobile this year.

The mobile website of Mouthshut.com has been launched with three specific goals - to present the vast content of Mouthshut.com to people on the move; to help people in quick decision-making without getting on a computer; and continue to help people to share their views on products and opinions on a handset.

The site has been created in a mix of HTML 5 and CSS 3 standards for easy accessibility. Given the low speed of internet on mobiles in India, it has been made light for fast browsing. The Mouthshut.com mobile site is compatible with smartphones and basic features phones.

Commenting on the launch, Faisal Farooqui, CEO, Mouthshut.com, says, "We at Mouthshut.com realised that it is extremely important to have a mobile strategy in place to ensure holistic growth. And the primary reason we decided to go ahead with a mobile site is that we found out that we were registering a phenomenal 500-600 per cent growth in traffic from mobile."

Farooqui adds that the mobile site will be closely integrated with social media platforms, too. He says, "Being a social platform ourselves, we are naturally geared to drive the social media space. We have a very strong community on Facebook (almost 2.5 lakh fans) and we are embracing Twitter. Most of the popular reviews get posted automatically on Twitter from Mouthshut.com. This helps people discover genuine user opinion."
