As part of the mobile marketing campaign to promote Samsung's Omnia W, Affle has created a branded cricket WAP site, m.thecrickethub.com.
In an effort to promote its newly launched handset, Omnia W, Samsung Mobile has launched a mobile marketing campaign, The Cricket Hub. As part of the campaign, mobile media company Affle has created a branded mobile WAP site, m.thecrickethub.com.
Sankalp Mehrotra, regional director, business development, Affle, says, "With the launch of The Cricket Hub, we are confident of creating, nurturing and sustaining an interesting platform for all cricket fans by offering them an inside view of an exciting off-the-field cricket action."
The user interface of the WAP site, being built on the concept of 'Live tiles', will consist of content such as trivia, news bites, live score and exciting contests. Moreover, the site highlights key features of the Omnia W, such as 'Spotlight', 'My hub', 'Avatar Stories', 'Live Score' and 'Leadboard'.
Asim Warsi, vice-president, Samsung India, explains, "Mobile has become a key medium of consumption for consumers to meet their information and entertainment needs. Hence, it is an important platform for us to engage with them. Cricket Hub is an appropriate medium to give our unique Window's Phone experience and exciting cricket content on the user's mobile."
Interestingly, the WAP site can be accessed from other smartphones such as BlackBerry and the experience that a user receives will be similar to the experience of a Windows phone.
