Lochan Kothari will boost mobile advertising and marketing solutions for existing and new business partners in the West and South regions in India.
In a bid to strengthen its business operation, Affle has appointed Lochan Kothari as associate director, business development, India. Also, Siddharth Correya has been appointed as director, business development, Indonesia.
Kothari, who has 14 years of experience, has joined Affle from Webaroo Technologies (SMSGupshup.com), where he was head of corporate sales. His new mandate will be to lead the business development effort for the West and South regions in India, with particular focus to boost mobile advertising and marketing solutions for existing and new business partners.
This is Correya's second stint at Affle; earlier, he had worked with Affle's India team for more than three years. His responsibilities will be to leverage Affle's product penetration and increase the mobile ad sales representation business in Indonesia.
Kothari says, "It is fascinating to create brand advertising solutions on the small screen, which is fast becoming the leading medium for content consumption. In my new role, I look forward to utilise my knowledge and experience to strengthen our position in the market and assert the trust of our partners and customers."
Kothari, who is a graduate in Economics from Jai Hind College, Mumbai, started his career in 1998 with The Indian Express Online Media as product head, verticals. In 2000, he moved to Zee Telefilms as senior manager.
Later, in 2004, Kothari joined The Economic Times as deputy chief manager, where he worked till 2007. He joined Diageo Mumbai as senior manager, corporate sales, in 2007.
In January 2009, he joined Webaroo Technologies (SMSGupshup.com) as director, media sales and left the company in January, 2012/03.
