Mogae Media has appointed Rakesh Gopal as senior vice-president, monetisation. Gopal will be based at the agency's headquarter in Delhi. He will handle key clients business nationally for all Airtel platforms, including mobile, DTH and broadband. His major job responsibility will be to generate revenue.
Earlier, Gopal was head, impact, Delhi, East and South India at Mail Today, the daily tabloid of the India Today Group. Commenting on his new role, Gopal says, "I see mobile as the game changer in the media business. My stint at Mogae will be all about evangelising a new catalyst of change."
Gopal, who has more than 20 years of experience in media sales, has also worked with DNA as general manager, marketing and was instrumental in the newspaper's launch. His other stints include those at The Pioneer and Hindustan Times.
Tanya Goyal, executive director, Mogae Group, says, "Gopal has very good client outreach. He will be one of the leaders for Mogae in monetising the mobile medium."
Gopal is a graduate in commerce from Delhi University and also has an MBA degree. Mogae Media is the new venture launched by ad-man Sandeep Goyal. It is the sole and exclusive partner of Airtel for marketing its entire advertising inventory.
