Wunderman handles the digital mandate globally, after winning the account in early 2009.
Euro RSCG has pulled a winner early on in the year by securing an association with mobile handset bellwether, Nokia. Moving away from a global alliance, Nokia has assigned its digital mandate in India to the agency.
Wunderman had won the global digital business for Nokia in early 2009. Incidentally, Euro RSCG 4D was also in the fray for the account then, besides RMG Connect.
afaqs! attempted to get an official confirmation from both Euro RSCG and Nokia, but this could not be ascertained. However, senior industry sources close to the development have confirmed the news.
It is learnt that Nokia called for a review of its digital business a few months ago. Wunderman had also participated in the same.
JWT is Nokia's globally aligned network agency and has been on board since 2007.
Nokia has been making a lot of noise recently with its campaigns for the Lumia, a smartphone that has been climbing up the popularity charts. As a part of its 'The Amazing Everyday' campaign, Nokia even unveiled a Lumia-branded Jet Airways' Boeing 737.
With the appointment of Euro RSCG, one would only expect more aggressive marketing by Nokia in the digital space.
Maxus handles Nokia's media mandate in India, while Carat handles the same globally.
