The new free app, along with an upgraded mobile website, has been designed by AT&T.
Marriott International has launched a mobile application for iPhone and Android devices for the Indian market, with the aim to help make travel easy for time-crunched travellers. The new free app can be downloaded from www.Marriott.com/mobile.
The app allows users to find and get details about hotels nearby, book rooms, and check their upcoming reservations. Travellers can also enrol for Marriott Rewards, check their point balance, and find out what's happening in the local area.
Commenting on the app launch, Rajeev Menon, area vice-president, India, Malaysia, Maldives and Australia, Marriott International, says, "With this launch, we want to ensure that our guests face no problems in making their reservations, whether it's the old-fashioned way or using cutting-edge technology. The launch of our mobile app will serve our customers while they are on the move."
The group had launched its mobile website in September, 2011. The website has received nearly 3.1 million visits a month, and has generated an average of US$24.8 million in property-level revenue every month. This is more than three times the volume generated during the same period in the previous year.
Marriott's mobile app for smartphones, as well as its upgraded mobile website have been developed by AT&T as part of AT&T's Mobile Enterprise Applications Platform. The app and the mobile website also include quality control testing to ensure the most positive user experience.
