The app is available for free for a trial period of 45 days.
Mint, the business daily from Hindustan Times, has launched its new iPad application. The new app is the third launched by Mint for iPad, with the first two being special features on the highlights of the last two decades. The app will be available for free on the app store for the first 45 days at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mint-for-ipad/id483110610?ls=1&mt=8.
The application is fed with real-time news presenting the latest updates from the markets, corporate world, economy and politics in the form of in-depth analysis, slideshows and videos. The app also features Mint's exclusive editorial content including opinions, columns and blogs from some of the country's top business journalists and editors.
The app will allow users to save articles for future reference and share content over e-mail and social networking platforms. This will be one of the very few news apps that allow the reader to express his/her opinion on the content through comments.
Commenting on the launch, R Sukumar, editor, Mint, says, "For the Mint iPad app, we have tried to exploit all the new things that the platform offers to the user; instead of replicating what the brand's website offers, in keeping with the iPad's versatility, we have adopted a dynamic design that is classy and easy to use."
As part of the marketing campaign, a demo of the app is available at http://www.livemint.com/iPad. Mint will also launch print, TV and digital campaigns to promote the app.
