The agency will offer services like social media strategy consulting, Facebook marketing, and social media application development.
The Delhi-based digital company, Digital Vidya, which provides social media education through workshops to corporates, has now launched a social media marketing agency named dvBytes. The agency will offer social media marketing solutions to advertisers in the country.
Speaking to afaqs!, Pradeep Chopra, co-founder, Digital Vidya, says, "Initially, we will offer services like social media strategy consulting, Facebook marketing, and social media application development. Later, we'll identify and launch more services in the social media domain." He clarifies that Digital Vidya will continue to run its 'social media workshops' service.
On expanding its services beyond corporate workshops on social media, Chopra says, "In the last 15 months, we have worked closely with many brands, such as eBay, Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Ching's Secret, Makemytrip, Nokia, Airtel and The Times of India through our customised corporate workshops on social media marketing. That helped us to acquire a strong understanding of the pain areas in leveraging social media by various brands. We were already providing social media consultancy, especially to brands which have been part of our social media marketing workshops, informally. The launch of dvBytes will act as a natural extension to our workshops and help us to deepen our engagement with brands by offering social media marketing services and consultancy, formally."
Chopra indicates that the social media agency will try to rope in both big and small advertisers like venture-funded start-ups, which will be keen on leveraging social media for marketing. The agency will opt or experiment with various pricing models like project-wise cost, hour-based (for strategy consulting) and performance-based pricing.
The social media education firm will also explore options to launch dvBytes in other countries like Singapore and the UAE. "We are talking to potential partners (in Singapore), with whom we plan to serve brands in the Singapore market, using our social media marketing services," Chopra reveals. To begin with, the firm will have a 12-member team in New Delhi.
For the record, Digital Vidya also owns a social cricket platform called Soch.la, which enables its members to comment, converse and share their opinions on cricket with other members, especially during a cricket match.
