The Indian Premier League team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), has re-appointed the Mumbai-based digital agency, Indigo Consulting, for its online and mobile marketing for the upcoming IPL tournament. The agency handled the online and mobile marketing for the team in the last season as well.
Speaking to afaqs!, Vikas Tandon, managing director, Indigo Consulting, says, "KKR has reviewed its digital duties and met with a few other digital agencies before finalising Indigo Consulting for online and mobile marketing." In February, KKR roped in 22feet, the Bengaluru-based digital agency, to handle its social media marketing activities.
Tandon refused to divulge the exact online and mobile marketing plan of KKR. However, he indicates that the agency will create exclusive non-match video and photo content for consumption, launch contests and sell KKR branded merchandise through digital platforms.
An exclusive KKR fans club will be created online. On mobile, the agency will revamp and re-launch KKR's mobile site, http://mobile.kkr.in/. There are plans to launch KKR mobile applications across various platforms and leverage the location-based capabilities of mobile phones to connect with KKR fans across various regions.
