In his new role, Mehta will lead all operational, financial and strategic areas of the business globally.
Komli Media, a digital media network platform, has promoted its current chief operating officer, Prashant Mehta, to the post of chief executive officer. Mehta also becomes a member of the company's board of directors.
Amar Goel, previously the CEO and chairman, will continue as the chairman of the board.
Mehta joined as the COO of Komli Media in December 2008 and was responsible for sales, marketing, business development, and operations.
In an official communiqué, Goel, founder and chairman, Komli Media, says, "I have enjoyed working with Prashant over the last two years, and can really think of nothing more exciting than having him take on this new role. His strong leadership skills, industry experience and business acumen have helped Komli Media expand aggressively in the last two years."
On his promotion, Mehta says, "I'm thrilled at the opportunity to lead an incredibly talented and committed team at Komli Media. The company has seen significant acceleration and adoption of its core business and platforms, as demonstrated by the growth we've experienced. Furthermore, the opening of our Engineering Center in Bengaluru will only help increase the pace of innovation and scale our offerings to meet growing demands, as well as enable us to bring greater value to our customers."
Prior to joining Komli Media, Mehta was senior director, strategic alliances at Yahoo!, where he looked after the emerging markets group, which included India, South-East Asia, Middle East and Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America. He has also worked with Lehman Brothers.
